Our classroom supports students with Emotional Disturbances. We would like to have a donation in order to get some sensory items for our students. Not only would it benefit the students in our room, but there are many other students in our building that could benefit from these items. Our building has approximately 600 students in grades K-2. We have students in regular classrooms that have autism and behavioral needs. If our classroom had sensory items we could allow these other students to take sensory breaks in our room. There are so many children that get overwhelmed in large classrooms with a lot of noise and distraction. They could be more successful if they could take 10 minutes to have a sensory break. Our own classroom students need frequent sensory breaks. These are the children that are not able to be educated in a general education classroom. We provide the small class setting that they need, but we are in need of more sensory related activities for them. Thank you for your time and consideration!
