My Students: We use real world, hands on activities to develop skills pertaining to electrical, fluid, and mechanical systems. All intro level students must complete a series of basic house wiring circuits and a complete small gasoline motor tear-down and rebuild. The problem: We are aiming to outfit our classroom with a classroom set of 10 Briggs and Stratton Motors, 20 textbooks and 20 workbooks. This will end the problems that arose with student funded engine rebuilds as well as issues with multiple engine manufacturers and lack of available parts for outdated motors. The classroom set of motors will allow us to focus on engine theory, and complete tasks individually yet simultaneusly as a class. These activities teach students how to read and interpret technical manuals, use micrometers for measuring, as well as safely use common hand tools.
Cost:
text book 85.95 171.90

For every 2 text and 2 work books purchased a Vo-ed engine will be donated.
