I am a brand new Oklahoma teacher teaching English in the special education lab setting who would love to give my students the opportunity to get to know Oklahoma based authors. How better for students in a rural community to relate to their surroundings and be able to identify through literature but through works by those authors who know the state the best? Wilson Rawls and Bill Wallace are authors who meet this requirement. For students to identify with characters of a book is my hope and desire for them to continue to seek out other authors who might spark their interest and follow through with a love of reading.
