2nd Grade
Ps 6
These students are enthusiastic, curious, fun and loving kids. The students are seven to eight years old and full of energy.
Despite the many hurdles (social, economic, and academic), they are eager to learn. They want to do their best but need quite a bit of additional help to ensure their success in school and the community.
They represent a wide range of ethnicities which include latin, haitian, african, asian, african american and others. Some are very new to America and are learning english every day. They are the children of hard working families who may not be well equipped to help their children become successful in school. They are often guiding and assisting their own non-english speaking family members.
Donations will help us to purchase assistive technology such as desktop notepads, translation software, headphones, laptops, smart board, projector, printer ink and cameras. Additionally, basic supplies like books, pencils, ink and paper often need to be replenished throughout the year, and equipment needs to be repaired or maintained. Donations could also help subsidize field trips for those who cannot afford these costs. Donations could also help our class to purchase art supplies and even musical instruments that students could use to showcase their achievements through annual or semi annual school or community events.
There are many ways to effectively use donations to support students' efforts and improve their academic growth.
Thank you for this opportunity.
