We are a Title I School and therefore, I need help funding supplemental materials for my students. Most of our programs are direct instructed and fiction. With the new common core, we are supposed to be focusing more on non-fiction and informational text. I ordered Scholastic News and asked each parent to donate a fee of $4.99 so their child could recieve a yearly subscription to thte magazine. I only received 4 donations. I still owe $107.00. I spend a lot of my own money in the classroom on extra activities, incentives, my classroom library, etc. I would love to get help to pay off my Scholastic News! If I don't receive help, I probably won't be able to afford it again next year. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my plea and help my students become better readers so they can continue to enjoy reading Scholastic News!
