Thank you for your interest in supporting education. Kimball High School is a very new school- all of 4 years in operation! Being very young, we have yet to build up our stores of equipments and consumables. Your donation to my biology and human physiology classrooms will be used to purchase materials and equipments that will enable students to engage in inquiry based learning activities more. Consumables such as colored papers, poster boards and other craft materials as well as laboratory equipments, reagents and perishable samples are at the top of my list.

I teach two classes of 10 Grade AVID (Achievement Via Individual Determination) students. Usually, these students are the first ones from their families to attend college. If you decide to help us, if you think we are doing something worthwhile, or if you simply have some extra cash lying around, we would use the funding for Field Trips to local community colleges, state colleges, or University of California campuses. When students get the opportunity to visit a college campus, take the tour, and visit with students and professors, they begin to see themselves there, on campus, as a real possibility. This in turn has a carry-over effect back in the classroom which my colleagues and I maximize to its full potential. We conduct a college week in the First Semester, wherein every teacher on campus decorates their classroom in a tribute to their alma mater. Students interview their teachers about their college experience and, again, continue to see college as a reality in their near-term future. Please join us! We'd love to benefit from your generosity and expertise.

I have the pleasure of expanding the knowledge and skills of students with learning disabilities, autism, behavior disorders, orthopedic impairments, deaf or hard of hearing, visual impairments, language disorders, and other health impairments which inhibit their abilities to function in the general education classroom settings. This year I teach two levels of math, a credit recovery class for students that are deficient credits for on time graduation with their peers, and a study skills class for assistance with homework/project completion and organization. I am seeking donations for two classroom sets (20 each) of monthly publications from Scholastic. One is entitled Scholastic Math which shows students real-life connections to a variety of math topics that deal with a teen topics of interest. The other publication is Scholastic Choices. I have used this in the past. The topics discussed are current teen issues and making positive choices ~ physically, emotionally and for personal health. The classes that have utilized this publication in the past have allowed me to open discussions for groups of young adults, allowed them to do some personal soul searching and to really look at a variety of issues in a different way. Each publication has allowed me to make connections with students and show them that learning does not always have to come from a textbook. Students have also utilized the information from these publications to improve their verbal, writing, reading, comprehension, interpersonal, and computation skills while working through the topics and activities presented by the Scholastic publications. Through the publication subscription, I would also have access to on-line supplemental activities and videos related to the topics presented each month. THANKS!

I strive to always make it easy for students to learn math without compromising standards. I supply them with supplementary materials so they can have access to more practice problems aside from what the book provides them. So I brought with me office equipment from home which the district does not normally supply like my Brother MFC - J410 scanner and copier and Brother HL-2240 high yield printer. These two things have been very helpful since our budget for printing and copying is very limited. They allow me to scan and print grades and make up work for students. They also allow me to print volumes of packets for students to take home and do. Replacing toner and ink can be quite expensive, though. It would be nice if our classroom can have a steady supply of replacement toner and ink!! Also it would be nice if our students have a class set of scientific calculators (TI 30s and TI- 84 silver) so they don't have to share while they are doing work in class. Thank you for considering supporting my classroom and more power to you!!

Thank you for considering donating to our classroom needs. We would like to purchase Ti-84 Plus Silver Edition calculators for use in the room. If every student contributed $25, we would be able to afford to buy 36 calculators. Also, we are hoping to put a student use computer in the room. If donations increase to allow it, we will purchase one.

I teach students of all levels of math. Every student has their own life story and relationship with math. It can be the most loved subject or the most hated. Our school is diverse ethnically, and socioeconomically. In my classroom we try to bridge the gaps and create an equal and safe learning environment for all students to succeed and continue with their future goals. Any donation will provide supplies like calculators, white boards, markers, pencils, colored paper, posters, etc. that every students needs to engage in our classroom activities. Thank you for your generosity.

Hello! While I work in a semi affluent school district, my classroom is in need of a laser printer for making copies of work online; I need money for copies and copy paper. It would be so wonderful to get bulbs for my projector and bulbs as well for my document camera because when these bulbs go out the district takes weeks to months to replace them because of the price for these bulbs. It is so difficult to teach without these tools at hand. I would love to have an account at an office store where I could simply shop for our student's needs! Thank you!

We are a brand new school, this being our fourth year. We can use any assistance available to buy materials for the students, in addition to getting a class set of calculators, preferably graphing calculators for my calculus students. That would be a really beneficial gift to my students and to our school.

Human Rights and Contemporary Society is a new elective at Kimball High for juniors and seniors within our communications pathway. This year long course allows students to investigate examples of genocide in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, including the Holocaust, Armenia, Bosnia,Cambodia, and Rwanda. This class is responsible for organizing Kimballs International Day of Peace as well as the national Mix It Up event which encouraged students to step outside of their comfort zones. Donations for this class would go a long way. A lot of our activities are community driven and encourage the school or local community to get involved in various ways. Classroom supplies and other resources will help my students set the example at Kimball High. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Having enough equipment, whether it is calculators, electronic balances,or lab ware, allows all students to participate in labs which will give them a better understanding and appreciation for science. I have students who struggle with English, who struggle with math and reading; I would like to see them all achieve in my class.

I primarily teach the young minds of freshmen in high school. Biology is a required class for students to graduate from a high school in the Tracy Unified School district and I strive to give these students the best, hands on science experience I can give them. Unfortunately, I have only been teaching for 5 years and have not had much of an opportunity to build up a repertoire of supplies to do labs and activities with my students. In these hard economic times, my school, Kimball, was opened with very little left over funding for even basic science supplies. I am also in a bind to make sufficient copies for my students, and the ones I do make are class set, half sheets of paper which students cannot write on or take home. Any and all help that can be given would be greatly appreciated and put to extremely good use. Thank you for taking the time to consider adopting my classroom.

I have started a new class in our district this year and have quickly gone through the limited "start up" money without getting many supplies. This new class is Advanced Placement Environmental Science and my goal is to create more planet conscience teenagers who can help spread the word about conservation.
