My classroom will include students of varied ability levels and cultures. Since there is an autism program in our building, I will usually have at least two students with autism in my class. These students need additional attention and also extra time and hands-on approaches to prepare them in all subject areas. A donation would allow me to work with my students so that they can reach their full potential using the third grade curriculum and many hands-on manipulative approaches. These students are exceptional in many ways and I want to provide them with an exceptional education within the classroom setting instead of having them in a separate room. I would like to improve on the materials I use for the study of science in my classroom. I am always looking for things that will allow my students a better understanding of the world around them. I would like to have the manipulatives to study the science of sound and the solar system, which are the two main ideas in third grade science.
