The city I teach in faces many challenges. The families do not have a lot of money so getting supplies and books is very difficult. Novels and basic school supplies are a necessity and many of these families cannot afford crayons, folders, etc. Many families do not have the time to get their children to public libraries and if the school library does not have a good selection of books, they will not read. These are just a few of the needs.
