Omar Kaba

I am a second year teacher in the Baltimore County Public School system. I have 25 wonderful students eager to learn. As I strive to empower my children the greatest challenge I face is financial ability. We have made it halfway through the school year and we have yet to go on a field trip. It is my greatest desire to make the learning of my kids more meaningful by allowing them to see something more than a picture in a book or on a website. If you know the struggles of a teacher in a poor community, the following fact may impact you. Though Ive only been teaching two years, I currently have what teachers call a dream class. My peers and I agree that a collection of such wonderful children is a rarity in one classroom. I ask that you help me help them make more meaning of the world around them. Thank you in advance!
