Rachel Larrabee

Hello! My name is Rachel Larrabee. I am a math teacher in Hampden, Maine, looking for a way to bring more "real life" math into our classroom. One initiative that our school is working on is to improve our students ability to read and understand informational text. As a learner I find math in the media/real world very interesting, but as a teacher I find it hard to help students bring this knowledge to life. I am also looking for a way to extend the classroom and allow students to learn independently. My current desire is to bring this about by using a magazine that focuses on math in the real world.
