Holly Mishler

I am the brand new coordinator of our EL (English Learners) students. I am responsible for students K-12 but will be working primarily with elementary kids on a daily basis. Our population is a bit unique in that the bulk of our EL students are Amish. Most Amish in our community attend their own Amish school, but the ones who attend Adams Central often arrive with little or no exposure to English. They have only heard and spoken a specific dialect of German. I am interested in materials specifically intended to help build vocabulary and speaking skills. The Amish community is a very important part of our culture and economy. Helping our students build proficiency in the English language benefits our entire community.
