My students come from a hard working Latino neighborhood in Chicago. The students love to experience science and math with hands on learning opportunities! Through your help, the students will be able to have authentic, engaging science education. Science standards for our nation are evolving. Kids are expected to be independent problem solvers. Experiments and projects help students take charge of their own learning!

I teach fifth grade in a low income area on the south side of Chicago. Our classroom is a bright, large room that lacks many basic needs. We are always in need of basic supplies - paper, glue sticks, crayons, pencils and erasers. The many I purchased at back-to-school sales are running out quickly. We have no rug or comfortable seating for a reading area. Just having a comfortable space for my students to sit and enjoy some of the wonderful books in our classroom library would be wonderful! Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated by my bright-eyed, eager students and myself.
