I am a 3rd grade Reading and Language Arts teacher. We all know the importance of reading well at this grade level in order to achieve a passing score on the FCAT. I strive daily to motivate young readers. I encourage them by reading books aloud and I also enjoy helping create books made by them to promote the feeling of being an author. Additional funding will allow me to purchase materials for read alouds and book binding. It will also help provide additional resources such as skill workbooks when preparing for FCAT and materials for student centers(differentiated instruction).
