We are a fourth grade gifted/high achieving classroom. The students are placed in the class as a result of a gifted label or above average standardize test scores. These children need the opportunity to go beyond the general curriculum. I often accelerate and compact the given material in order to enrich the students. We enjoy out of the box lessons and often require volunteers and unusual materials. The students participate in literature circles in reading as opposed to the given basal book. The novels used have me purchased personally by me. The students complete many hands on projects in Science, Social Studies and Math to bring the real world into our curriculum.
