Students are currently working on a community service project that helps younger students learn basic Reading and Math skills. Using innovative teaching strategies, 6th Grade students are learning to create their own stories and games using cutting edge 3-D animation software created by famed professor Randy Pausch of `The Last Lecture.` Student work is going onto the class blog site to be viewed and used by anyone with a computer and internet access. Students will travel to local primary schools to teach younger students, first-hand, how to use and navigate the projects.
To enhance the experience, our classroom needs computers to use for creating our projects. Additional funds are needed for food and travel so students will be able to visit surrounding schools.
