Welcome to the third grade classroom at Our Lady Of Lourdes School. In the third grade classroom, you will find a colorful, bright, and friendly environment. As you walk around, you will see 3 older computers, old-fashioned desks lined up in rows, green chalkboards, an older TV and two wooden bookshelves used for a library. The vision I have for my third grade classroom is to have tabletop desks and chairs, so that it would be easier to put the children into cooperative groups. I would also like to see updated computers to accommodate current learning software. In the library, I imagine organized bookshelves with colorful baskets to group the books according to genre (red, blue, green, and yellow). The classroom library could also use a larger selection of nonfiction books. My classroom and I`m sure the school would benefit with new sets of bibles for children and reference books (dictionaries, encyclopedias, atlases). It would also be nice to see the classroom updated with a new TV and white boards. While all of these items would be great, there is also a need for basic supplies that include: printer ink, colorful butcher paper, construction paper, and paint. I feel that all of these items would help the children learn by working together in cooperative groups while at the same time have fun with their learning by using current and interactive materials.
