I teach in a Title One Kindergarten classroom. Most of the students at our school are considered homeless as they reside in weekly rentals. Additional funding will allow us to add additional items to our classroom to provide language experience to our students to help them learn. Meeting their basic needs by providing snacks helps their brains to be ready for learning! It is amazing how fast kindergarten students learn English AND academics! Our entire school is fostering community involvement by educating parents how to support and care for their children. I am preparing take home backpacks so that each student can take home a book along with literature, math, and science backpacks to read at home with their families. We will put the items in the backpacks so the entire family can be involved with their kindergarten child`s education.
