Room 2101 is the headquarters for twenty future scientists, doctors, teachers, architects, lawyers, and business professionals. My students are naturally inquisitive about the world around them. Unfortunately, their learning is constantly hampered by a lack of resources for our classroom. For example, our library is in tatters; some our books and magazines are from 1975 others though newer are filled with torn pages and crayon marks. My bookshelves are too small to organize these books and as such I have yet to level my library. A leveled library is essential to helping students choose the right books. Imagine if your own local library were so unorganized, would you ever go there? It is my goal to help my students become avid readers so that they may fulfill their future professional dreams.
My classroom is located in a low-income community in South Los Angeles. All of my students participate in the federal free student lunch program. I want to create an environment that engages all my students in learning, and you can help! If you adopt my classroom you will be helping to make a positive change in the lives of my students. The learning they do in Room 2101 will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
