I am a 5th year elementary teacher still trying to acquire the items necessary to successfully teach math to all of our 5th grade students. Manipulatives for hands-on math are still very important for students at this age. They are also very expensive. Due to the kinestic/visual world our children are growing up in, math manipulatives are almost essential for some students to grasp certain math concepts. My goal is to have enough manipulatives in the classroom for each child to be able to have a set at their desk for practicing whatever skill I am teaching. This would eliminate time wasted due to `sharing` six sets of manipulatives between 20 to 25 students at a time. Any funding received will be used strictly for purchasing math manipulatives. Thank you for being a partner in educating the future. Together in math education, Barbara Borho
