Mostly I spend my money each year on office/classroom supplies such as folders, binders, hanging folders/file folders, pens, markers, pencils, paper, art supplies, Model Magic, post-its, and labels. The other major purchases I make for my classroom are age & reading level appropriate books for my 5th/6th grade highly capable students. Many of the books in the library at our school are below the reading level of my students and/or my students read them at a younger age. I spend hundreds of dollars on new books for my classroom library a year. Additional funding would benefit the students in my classroom by providing them with the resources to complete their school work and projects, and would provide them adequate and appropriate reading material.
