I currently teach Algebra 1 for high school credit to 8th and 7th graders and Geometry for high school credit to 8th graders. We need several things in my classroom. A classroom set of digital cameras would be appreciated to complete projects based on pictures the students take and then analyze for concepts we are working on (slope, rate of change, shapes). A site license for Geometer`s Sketchpad from Key Curriculum Press would allow the geometry class to be more hands-on. Colored Pencils are always needed, as are boxes of Kleenex, hand sanitizer, and paper towels. In addition, recognition awards (things the students like and appreciate such as food, IPODS, phone cards, gift cards, etc) for those that complete their work on time and achieve good grades are also needed; as are awards for those that achieve the highest scores on their state end-of-course test.
