I teach the two - year digital communications major (graphic design & web page design) for junior & senior high school students. We are in dire need of a scanner, chargers for digital cameras, memory cards for digital cameras, updated software (we are two versions behind the local colleges), books for a classroom library, reference materials and some updated textbooks. My students study many areas of design, but do not have access to additional materials in the areas they want to explore more deeply. This school year (2010-2011) I have 23 juniors and 14 seniors but not enough textbooks. Our school mission says that we will prepare our students for college and their future career, but that is not possible when all the materials and equipment are not in place.
