My classroom utilizes a hands-on approach to learning. I believe students should be inspired to develop a love of learning. Exploration and discovery are keys to creating an intrinsic desire to learn. In my classroom students are taught how to think, not what to think. As the teacher I see myself as a coach in the classroom encouraging students to make new discoveries and think outside of the box. Our classroom is a part of a W.A.S.C. accredited, college preparatory school. I look forward to integrating technology in more meaningful ways throughout my classroom this year. Additional funds would enable me to purchase more technology for my students. This year students will develop and design their own greenhouses. Students will study conservation of energy, organic agriculture as well as ecosystems. All of our course work will be integrated into this project. There are many supplies needed to do this project which fall outside of the school budget as well as my own. Any assistance we recieve will go to purchase supplies to support this project.
