I teach a class of students with varying disabilities at the elementary level. They range in age from 6-11 and all have very different curricular and health needs. As a fairly new teacher, I am looking for ways to obtain needed supplies to meet my students physical, emotional, cognitive, sensory, and curricular needs in the most meaningful way possible. We do everything in my classroom from reading, writing and math to social skills training, fine and gross motor practice, and sensory integration exercises. With so many learners with a large range of learning abilities and styles, it takes a wide variety of supplies and techniques to be sure that all needs are met. I seek to engage my students in the most meaningful learning possible, so that their skills will generalize and be useful to them in all settings they encounter.
